Sister Shinguji

Korekiyo Shinguji's Sister is a dead character whose narrative importance revolves around the fact that she's dead. She is not even a character of her own. The third Class Trial was the only time she was ever brought up (as a shock twist—surprise! Drag & incest. This guy is a loony, you see.) We perceive her solely through Korekiyo as a tulpa living within him. And she continued to play her role in his life, as Kiyo saw fit, as his soother and wisest adviser.

Sister's death is long in the past in Kiyo's story. Often necrophilia is intent on the physicality of its love, but with a grave so far away, it roots itself in the living heart.

Necromancy rituals was a fixation Korekiyo had as an anthropologist who traveled the world studying various cultures and their rituals. The tulpa of Sister deposed herself to him in a near-death experience through one of these rituals. Through this multiplicity of existence did Korekiyo continue to serve his Sister. He attempted to murder 100 women whom he considered virtuous for the sake that Sister may have friends in the afterlife. Sister manifests through Kiyo as his face adorned with red lipstick under his mask. He embodied her, and her word became his absolute truth.

For the Ultimate Anthropologist, he is quite trapped in his mind. And though he could argue credence for his rituals, declare that every thing he had done, of through which his existence had become proof of Sister, his God, his ultimate desire for a reciprocity of his love—upon being discovered as the blackened, he rejoiced the prospect of being reunited with Sister as he joins the afterlife—his transcendence would reveal itself to be illusory, as the spririt of Sister joined Monokuma in throwing holy salt at his ghost until he melted, killing him for a second time in the afterlife. Such was the tragedy of the Ultimate Anthropologist.

The necrophilia here is something intangible, trapped in the psyche and spiritual. Carnal desires were enacted upon solely on the self and irrelevant bystanders, and none on the Corpse itself. Yet the perversion of it, of seeing Sister where it isn't, like a ghost, to me makes Shingujicest tastefully necrophilic.
